Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis Acquitted On All Charges

The Cowboys are looking at a trend that they hope continues.

And that would be that two Dallas Cowboys that were cleared of any criminal charges yesterday.

One, of course, would be the recently cut—and currently still cut—Lucky Whitehead who was found innocent of shoplifting after a case of mistaken identity.

And while the Cowboys won’t be bringing him back, there is another player they will welcome to training camp with open arms.

And that would be rookie cornerback Jourdan Lewis who was acquitted on charges stemming from an incident with his former girlfriend—while he was playing college football at Michigan—in which Lewis allegedly dragged his then girlfriend by the hair, grabbing her neck and holding her down in the process.

ESPN reported yesterday that Lewis was “found not guilty on both domestic violence and assault and battery counts.”

And just like that the Cowboys not only have a talented young defensive back but a steal of one at that. After the incident saw his draft stock plummet allowing the Cowboys to grab him in the third round.

Lewis could still face disciplinary action from the NFL but I would be very surprised if Roger Goodell suspended him for a “he said, she said” incident after the court sided with him and given that it was his only brush with trouble.
